I have always had a heart for people.  This lifelong passion for helping others first led me into many areas of leading, teaching, and empowering others…including individuals, couples, and families.
My desire to do all of that more effectively inspired me to complete the training I needed to become a Registered Professional Counsellor.  This keenly sharpened my understanding, knowledge and skills…increasing my ability to help otherwise regular, everyday people (just like you and me), to gain insight into areas where they are struggling, address their key concerns, and incorporate the skills and changes they need to effect positive change in their lives and relationships.

I especially feel for hurting people, as well as hurting couples.  My husband David and I have been married since 1981, and I can assure you that remaining married this long has not happened by accident.  Nor were we one of those “lucky few” who married into a blissful “happily ever after”.  Quite the contrary actually.  We experienced first-hand both the pain and challenges of an unhealthy relationship, and we struggled for decades.  Thankfully though, our story did not end in a divorce as so many do.  We have since learned that a healthy relationship needs to begin with two healthy individuals and safe communication between them.  Learning the principles, skills and tools we needed so we could work on accomplishing this has made this season of our lives feel like our best one yet!
Knowing we survived what most couples do not has given me hope for even the worst of relationships.  I truly believe that if we could make it, ANY couple willing to put in the time and effort it requires can make it too!
Together David & I have raised three beautiful daughters, all of whom are now married.  We have been thrilled to welcome three precious grandchildren into our family, with whom we are enjoying the amazing experience of grand-parenting. I am here as a counsellor to come alongside you, and work together with you, so you too can identify why you are struggling, and overcome whatever obstacles are standing in your way of
living your life with more freedom, joy, and passion!

We have one life to live…let’s work together so you can live it free!

Treatment Approach & Credentials and Education

I am truly an integrative counsellor.

What this means is that I am more concerned with what you personally need as an individual, couple, or family, than I am about following a particular counselling theory. I will utilize whatever I believe will benefit you the most from each of them.
